Completeion of the CISM "Basic" training is the initial requirement towards becoming a Nebraska CISM team member. Upon completion of the course, participants will be given the opportunity to submit an application to join the Nebraskaa CISM team.

CISM "Basic" Training Program Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, particiapnts will be able to:
  • Define critical incident stress.
  • List signs & symptoms of stress.
  • Describe first responder personality profiles.
  • Recognize characteristics & phases of critical incident stress.
  • Discuss stress & coping strategies.
  • Describe the anatomy of a debriefing.
  • Discuss disaster psychology and victim response.
Continuing Education
Workshop hours may be counted by Licensed Mental Health Practitioners.
Workshop hours may be counted by Licensed Pre-Hospital providers .
